Village Committee News Update

Committee Meeting and AGM  9th April 2008
 
_ Norman Keys and Diane Jackson have stood down from the Committee.
   Susan Heaps has joined.
   The Officers remain the same.
 
-    The crack and damp around the chimney have been repaired.
-    Instead of the Christmas Bazaar this year we will have a meal and Grand Raffle.
-    The Fete on 21st June will start at 1pm with the barbecue and wine etc as last year.
-    The new upholstered chairs are not for loan or hire and are not to go out of the Hall.
-     Stallholders meeting 14th May 8pm.
-     Next meeting 16th July at 8pm.

Highlights for  9th January 2008
A new cooker is now in place in the kitchen.
The Hall has passed its premises licence inspection and the large crack above the chimney has been repaired.
The Christmas Bazaar raised £1,316, slightly up on last year.
More ideas and volunteers  are needed for  fundraising.
 
Next Meeting:  AGM 9th APRIL at 8pm. Everyone is welcome.

Highlights for 10th October  2007
- New chairs have arrived and are excellent.
- Bazaar on Sat. 1st December will start at noon with lunch by Chris Whitton. Christmas Tree will be set up on Church Green again by Chris Hill and John Dingemans.
- Repairs and painting needed outside at the back of the Hall.
- Gas barbecue and replacement cooker being looked into.
- Martin Dingemans will take Christmas trees for chipping in the carpark -  donations to the Church. Date to be advised.
- New ideas for next year's Fete, Sat. 21st June 2008, include Dog Show, Tug of War (if we can find a rope), Ferret racing and Men's baking competition.
- Next meeting 9th January 2008

Highlights for 25th July  2007 
- The Fete raised £3,295 down from £3,436 in 2006.
- Ths Pig Gig raised £958. £100 has been donated to the Air Ambulance.
- The remainder plus £750 grant plus approx £750 from VH funds will buy 50 new upholstered chairs for the Hall.
- Next year's Fete will be on Sat. 21st June 2008
- Next Committee meeting is 10th October at 8pm.

Highlights for 18th April 2007

We have been given a grant of £750 from NHDC towards funding for new Village Hall chairs.

The Gentlemen's Gourmet evenings raised a total of £1,500

There will be a Fete Stallholders' meeting on Wedn. 23rd May at 8pm in the Hall. Everyone helping with the Fete is welcome to sort out any last minute problems.
Debra Stapleton is organising the children's Scarecrow Competition.
Chris Hill is to organise the Tug O' War.
A fundraising Family Hog Roast and Disco will be on Friday 13th July 7pm at the Moon and Stars.
Next meeting 25th July at 8pm. 

Highlights for 10th January 2007

A successful bazaar raised £1,292.00
An events/fundraising committeee is to be headed by Debra Stapleton.
New chairs are to be bought as soon as affordable.
AGM is on Wednesday 18th April at 8pm - everyone welcome.
Summer Fete - Saturday 23rd June at 2pm.
There will be a barbeque, scarecrow competition and tug o' war match.
Christmas Bazaar, Saturday 1st December 12 noon

Highlights for 19th July 2006
It was decided that a fete committee is needed for next year. It was suggested that one person collects for several stalls so that the whole village can be covered.


The Council will cut the laurels obscuring the entrance to the car park.


Increased electricity charges will mean an equal increase for Hall users.


The next meeting is on Thu 12th October.


Highlights for 18th January 2006

Village Committee the Kitchen is nearly finished.
We have a new fridge and water heater.
The joists in the Hall have been replaced.
Fundraising is needed to pay for upkeep.
The Christmas Bazaar was a great success and the Noon start will be repeated this year on 2nd December.
The AGM is on the 12th April.
