The meddlers were coming into fruit, the second picture shows one close up. It was now lunch time and so we visited a smoking factory where you could buy smoked fish and fresh produce, also have lunch while you watched the smoking taking place.

In the afternoon it was a visit to the Cathedral of the Forest at the little village of Newlands, which goes back to the 13th century. There is also an oak tree with a 46 foot girth said to be the largest in England.  My nephew is not into churches and as a child had set up a society called CAC, children against churches, so the younger members made their way to the lovely little Ostrich pub.

One of the church wardens was very keen to tell us about the history of the church and also the scandal of the village.
